About the Event
Turner's unique approach led the way towards a new form of landscape art, one that embraced the emotional power of colour, dazzling light effects and an almost abstract sensibility. As a result Turner came to be recognised as the most radical and innovative painter of his time, and one who had far reaching influence to other movements such as the Impressionists and the Abstract Expressionists.
