Yoko Ono: key moments in her extraordinary career

Having interviewed Yoko Ono for BBC Radio 2 Arts Show in 2008, Estelle Lovatt presents her illustrated lecture, explaining everything to know about, ‘Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind exhibition at Tate Modern, until 1 September 2024.

This is the UK’s largest show of Ono’s work, celebrating her as a powerful artist and activist for world peace.  Including conceptualism, film, performance, poetry, photography and music.  Spanning seventy years, from the 1950s to today.  And how, even now, she is still impacting our contemporary world.

Including Ono’s ‘Instruction Pieces’, how she met her future husband John Lennon, ‘Film No. 4 (Bottoms)' - which was banned, ‘White Chess Set’ anti-war game, ‘Add Colour (refugee Boat)’ inviting you to draw on the white boat and gallery walls, ‘My Mommy is Beautiful’ to which you can attach photos of your mother, ‘Wish Tree’ for you to contribute your wish for peace, today..
