The Islamic Galleries at the V&A
The Islamic gallery at the V&A is one of the treasures of Islamic art in Britain today. Tracing Muslim art from its roots in 8th century Iran, all the way to 19th century Turkey; from former Moorish outposts on the Iberian peninsular, right to the borders of India. It provides us with ample examples of the artistic sophistication, scientific understanding, and the incredible assimilation of many different cultures, demonstrating incredible variation in style and workmanship.
