Alan Read

Alan was born in London and has lived here his whole life, apart from one year in New York. In fact it was in New York that he had his first job as a guide, as a docent at a historic house in Greenwich Village. After a career in market research and advertising he qualified as a London Blue Badge Guide in 2002 and his particular interests are art and architecture. He has first class honours and master’s degrees in History of Art from Birkbeck College (University of London) and as an accredited lecturer travels all over the UK and abroad to give lectures on art.
